Smooth-On - Equinox Slow Silicone Putty Kit

Equinox Slow Silicone Putty Kit

Hand-sculpt precise molds that cure hard enough for low-temp metals

Platinum-cure silicone eliminates the surface sensitivity that plagues tin-cure alternatives. Equinox Slow works reliably over sulfur-containing clays, latex, and other materials that typically inhibit cure, making it practical for mold-making scenarios where you can't control every variable. The 30-minute working time accommodates deliberate hand application and careful surface coverage without rushing through complex geometries.

Mix equal volumes of Parts A and B, knead until uniform, then press directly onto your original. The putty conforms to surface details while maintaining enough body to stay where you place it rather than slumping or running. High tensile strength means thin sections won't tear during demolding, even around undercuts and fine details. Five-hour cure produces a durable rubber mold that handles repeated casting with low-temperature metals, resins, and waxes without degrading.

Temperature resistance extends to casting pewter and other low-melt alloys directly into these molds, something standard silicones can't manage. Minimal shrinkage preserves dimensional accuracy for jewelry components, orthotic impressions, and decorative elements where precise replication matters. The putty format requires no measuring equipment or vacuum degassing; you work entirely by hand, making it practical for field applications and quick mold-making when conventional silicone systems would be impractical.
