Face Forms

Create dimensional masks and sculptures that release cleanly from reusable forms

Working directly on a reusable form changes how you approach mask-making and facial sculpture. These non-porous blanks resist glue, papier-mâché paste, and clay adhesion, so completed pieces release cleanly once dry, no wrestling with stuck layers or ruined surfaces. The material's smooth finish creates consistent detail capture whether you're building up paper strips or pressing modeling clay.

Ten masks total (two each of five different facial structures) support classroom projects where students need varied base forms or multiple attempts at the same design. The non-stick surface means you can use each form repeatedly: build a papier-mâché mask, let it dry, pop it off, then start another. Or press the forms into service as molds for plaster casting, filling them with Plaster of Paris for solid decorative faces that accept tempera paint once cured.

Clay modelers appreciate how easily earthenware or polymer clay lifts away after shaping, while papier-mâché artists value the crisp edges and clean release that make finishing work straightforward. These forms eliminate the frustration of traditional mask-making where your carefully built layers tear during removal or stick permanently to disposable bases.
