Thermal polymerization transforms raw linseed oil into a thick, honey-like medium that fundamentally changes how Duo Aqua paints behave. This stand oil increases transparency while maintaining the body that water-miscible oils need for proper handling. Mix it directly with Duo Aqua colors to create luminous glazes that layer without muddying, or use it to extend paint for smoother blending across larger passages.
The polymerized structure creates exceptionally durable paint films that resist yellowing better than raw linseed oil. As it dries, this medium produces a distinctive leveled surface with enamel-like gloss, ideal for techniques where you want paint to self-level rather than hold texture.
