Create hundreds of one-of-a-kind marbled designs on fabric and canvas

Water marbling transforms basic acrylic paint into floating patterns that transfer onto fabric and hard surfaces. DecoArt's system uses two preparations to make this traditional Turkish technique reliable and repeatable. Magic Medium changes water's surface tension when mixed into your basin, creating a stable film that holds floating acrylic designs in place until you're ready to transfer them. One 8-ounce jar produces hundreds of marbling sessions, you need only small amounts per basin.

Surface Prep powder solves the adhesion challenge that typically frustrates water marbling attempts. Mix the powder with water, soak your fabric or surface in the solution, and you create a receptive base that grabs marbling pigments cleanly during transfer. This preparation works across scarves, canvas, fabric shoes, and similar surfaces that need help accepting water-based patterns.

The two-medium system gives you control over both sides of the transfer process. Magic Medium stabilizes your floating designs while Surface Prep ensures those patterns actually stick where you want them. Each marbling session produces genuinely unique results, the flowing pigments never repeat exactly, making every piece distinctly individual.
