Lift and transfer alcohol ink designs from slick surfaces to paper

It removes color rather than adding it. Press a clear or rubber stamp into this pad, then stamp onto dried alcohol ink surfaces to lift pigment away, creating negative images and tonal variations impossible to achieve through traditional application. The lifted ink transfers to porous surfaces like cardstock or watercolor paper, effectively giving you two artwork elements from a single stamping action, the lifted negative space on your original surface and the transferred positive image on your receiving paper.

This clear, alcohol-based solution works specifically with Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on non-porous substrates like Yupo, glossy cardstock, or metal. The lifting action reveals the underlying surface while depositing color onto whatever porous material you press against the wet stamp. You control the effect through stamp pressure and dwell time: quick impressions create subtle lifts, while sustained pressure removes more pigment for dramatic contrast.

The standard #0 pad size accommodates most rubber and clear photopolymer stamps, while the coordinating 0.5 oz. re-inker extends the pad's working life. This technique opens distinctive possibilities for layered alcohol ink compositions, building depth through strategic color removal rather than constant addition.
