Winsor & Newton - Classic Water Colour Paper Sheet

Classic Water Colour Paper Sheet

Paint luminous watercolors on archival paper that stays flat through washes

Cylinder mould manufacturing interlocks fibers in ways that flat mould processes simply can't match. This traditional method gives Classic Water Colour sheets exceptional dimensional stability, the paper resists buckling and warping even when saturated with multiple washes. Internal and external sizing controls water absorption, letting you lift color cleanly and work wet-into-wet without the sheet degrading into pulp.

Winsor & Newton formulates this paper from archival-grade cellulose wood pulp and neutral pH spring water, creating a stable foundation that won't yellow or deteriorate. The 140 lb. cold pressed surface provides moderate tooth for controlled washes while maintaining enough texture to grip pigment effectively. At 22 × 30 inches, each sheet accommodates standard full and half-sheet compositions with room for testing colors along the margins.

Two deckle edges mark where pulp naturally formed against the mould, while two cut edges provide clean borders for mounting or framing. This construction balances traditional watercolor paper characteristics with practical affordability, reliable performance for serious work without cotton rag pricing.
