Paint and mail original watercolors on archival postcards
Cylinder mould manufacturing disperses and interweaves cellulose fibers to create paper that resists buckling under wet washes. This traditional process gives Classic Water Colour postcards the dimensional stability needed for direct watercolor work without stretching or mounting. The 140 lb. cold press surface provides moderate texture that holds pigment effectively while maintaining smooth enough tooth for fine details, ideal for postcard-sized studies and plein air sketches.
Internal and external sizing controls water absorption, allowing proper paint flow and blending without the paper becoming oversaturated. Archival grade cellulose combines with neutral pH artesian spring water during production to ensure long-term stability without the premium cost of cotton rag papers. This makes the postcards practical for technique practice, travel studies, and experimental work where you want genuine watercolor performance without investing in exhibition-grade sheets.
The 4 × 6 inch format fits standard postcard sleeves and frames while providing enough working area for complete compositions. Fifteen sheets give you room to explore ideas, test color combinations, and develop confidence with wet techniques. Paint directly on these cards for finished pieces or use them to work out concepts before committing to larger sheets.
