Ranger - Tim Holtz Distress Grit-Paste
Build tactile dimension into mixed media art with paste that dries matte
Dimensional texture that actually holds its shape through drying and handling. Tim Holtz Distress Grit-Paste builds genuine surface relief on both porous and non-porous substrates, maintaining peaks and valleys exactly as you apply them. The grit provides tooth that grabs subsequent layers of color, while the paste base ensures stable adhesion that won't crack or separate from your surface.
Apply it thick with a palette knife for bold dimensional effects, or thin it with water and brush it on for subtle texture variations. The matte finish accepts Distress inks, crayons, paints, and stains beautifully, pulling pigment into the grit's crevices to emphasize dimensional details. Opaque white provides a neutral base for layering color, while translucent maintains underlying imagery and patterns. Both versions dry at the same rate and accept media identically.
Mixed media artists use this paste to create weathered surfaces, build up relief patterns through stencils, or add tactile interest to collage elements. The 3-ounce jar contains enough paste for multiple projects while remaining fresh between uses. Compatible with Tim Holtz's entire Distress system, it integrates seamlessly into existing workflows without requiring specialized techniques or tools.
