Ludwig - Precision Aluminum Straight Edge

Precision Aluminum Straight Edge

Draw perfectly straight lines while measuring to 1/32" precision

Aluminum construction delivers the rigidity critical for accurate cutting and drawing without the weight that makes longer rulers awkward to handle. Ludwig machines these straight edges flat and maintains that precision through edges calibrated end-to-end, eliminating the guesswork when measuring full-length materials or determining exact distances between marks. The 1.75-inch width provides stability against paper or mat board while keeping the tool manageable during extended layout sessions.

Dual-scale calibration covers both English measurements down to 32nds through the first six inches and metric increments, printed large enough to read quickly under typical studio lighting. Non-rusting aluminum withstands the moisture and handling that eventually corrodes steel rules, while 1.6mm thickness strikes the balance between durability and flexibility for tracing clean lines against templates or patterns.

This straight edge functions equally well for measuring fabric lengths, scoring mat board, ruling ink lines, or checking alignment across large format work. The permanent calibrations won't wear off through repeated use, and the lightweight design reduces hand fatigue when working through multiple measurements or extended cutting sessions.
