Golden Gel Mediums Description

Acrylic gels function as the structural foundation of paint manipulation, pure polymer without pigment, ready to extend, thicken, or texturize your colors while maintaining film integrity. Golden formulates these with 100% acrylic polymers that resist UV degradation, water damage, and chemical breakdown, ensuring your built-up surfaces remain stable decades after application.

Each viscosity serves distinct studio needs. Soft Gels pour moderately and hold slight texture; use them for glazing transparent layers or as reliable collage adhesive. Regular Gels match Heavy Body paint consistency, extending colors while regulating translucency without thinning. Heavy and Extra Heavy Gels build substantial impasto, holding pronounced peaks and brushstrokes as they dry translucent. High Solid Gel offers the thickness of Extra Heavy with notably less shrinkage and faster surface dry, blend it with paint for oil-like handling and enhanced stroke retention. Clear Granular Gel creates rough, tooth-heavy surfaces; mix in other gels to increase flexibility since it dries quite hard.

All gels accept pigment blending, allowing you to build custom consistencies and transparencies. Gloss versions maintain clarity for glazing techniques. Choose your viscosity based on the physical structure your work requires, from pourable transparency to sculptural peaks.
