Castin' Craft - Mold Builder Liquid Rubber

Mold Builder Liquid Rubber

Brush on liquid latex to duplicate sculptures and found objects perfectly

Liquid latex builds flexible molds directly on three-dimensional objects through simple brush application. Paint thin coats over the original piece, allowing each layer to cure before adding the next, until you've built sufficient thickness for durability. The rubber peels away cleanly once cured, capturing fine surface details in a flexible mold that releases castings without damage.

Water-based formula cleans from brushes with soap and water, eliminating solvent hassles during the multi-coat process. The cured rubber withstands repeated use with candle wax, plaster, and casting resin, making it practical for small production runs or creating multiple versions of hand-sculpted originals. Flexibility allows the mold to bend away from undercuts that would trap rigid mold materials.

This approach works particularly well for organic forms, sculptural details, and found objects where traditional mold-making would require complex box construction. The 16-ounce jar provides enough material for several small to medium molds, depending on object size and desired wall thickness. Build custom molds for decorative casting, prototype development, or reproducing one-of-a-kind pieces without investing in specialized equipment.
