Graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, and pen all perform well without bleed-through concerns.

Canson builds these hardbound books with acid-free materials throughout, from the substantial black cover to the cream-toned pages inside. Eighty sheets give you 160 working surfaces for developing ideas, refining compositions, or maintaining visual journals that withstand regular handling. The magnetic closure provides security without bulk, slide the book into a bag knowing your work stays protected and pages remain intact. Architects sketching site observations and illustrators developing character studies both appreciate how these books balance durability with genuine drawing performance rather than prioritizing appearance over function.
