"H" Freehand Airbrush Templates

Master organic effects like fire and scales with one-handed control

One-handed control transforms how you work with airbrush stencils. Craig Fraser designed these "H" templates specifically for single-hand manipulation, letting you position the shield while simultaneously squeezing to morph its curved edge into different shapes. That flexibility makes organic effects, fire, smoke, dragon scales, flowing water, easier to build through layered passes rather than rigid repetition.

Each set includes two sizes: 12" × 4" and 8" × 2½". The simple French-curve profile might look basic, but that simplicity becomes versatility once you start combining angles and overlapping passes. Squeeze the template to tighten curves, rotate it for different orientations, or work the same edge repeatedly with varying hand pressure to create complex forms from straightforward moves.

Solvent-resistant material withstands repeated cleaning between colors. Instructions walk you through fundamental techniques, though the real learning happens when you experiment with pressure variations and stacking effects. Custom painters and fantasy illustrators find these templates particularly useful for adding organic texture over base layers without masking entire sections.
