Jack Richeson - Bamboo Brush Mat

Bamboo Brush Mat

Transport and dry brushes safely with ventilated bamboo and cotton slots

Wet brushes crammed into a bag emerge bent, crushed, and shedding bristles. This bamboo mat solves that problem with a design that protects during transport and promotes proper drying between uses. Natural bamboo slats create the air circulation brushes need to dry thoroughly, preventing mildew and ferrule rust that shortens brush life.

A cotton cloth panel sewn along the bottom half contains twelve individual sleeves sized to hold brushes from two to five inches wide. Slip each handle into its slot, roll the mat, and secure with two elastic ties. The cloth barrier prevents bristles from touching and ferrules from knocking against each other during transport. Brushes stay organized and protected whether you're moving between studio spaces or packing for plein air sessions.

The 13¾" × 14¼" mat accommodates a complete working set while rolling compact enough for most backpacks and totes. Bamboo's natural durability withstands repeated rolling and unrolling. After painting sessions, unroll the mat to let brushes dry properly before storage, air flows freely around each brush, preventing the trapped moisture that damages fine bristles and loosens ferrules over time.
