Tonic Studios - Tim Holtz Rotary Media Trimmer
Precision cuts through chipboard and cardstock with metric guides
Chipboard, acetate, and thick cardstock all feed through this trimmer without resistance or wandering cuts. The geared rotary blade maintains consistent pressure across the full cutting path, slicing cleanly through substrates up to 0.05 inches thick, materials that would jam or tear in standard craft trimmers. Dual extending arms accommodate 12×12-inch sheets while keeping the base compact at 12.5 inches, and measurement guides running along both edges let you align cuts from either direction without flipping your paper.
Tim Holtz designed this specifically for mixed media work where you're constantly switching between materials. The pressure guard holds everything stable during the cut, eliminating the shift that creates ragged edges or misaligned scores. Whether you're sizing Yupo for alcohol ink backgrounds, cutting vellum overlays, or trimming chipboard substrates for assemblage, the rotary mechanism handles the variety without blade changes or adjustment. The lightweight construction means you can reposition it easily on your work surface rather than wrestling with a heavy guillotine-style cutter. Replacement blades are available separately when you've worked through enough abrasive materials to dull the edge.
