Golden's OPEN Acrylic Modern Set assembles six colors chosen specifically for their resistance to muddying, Hansa Yellow Opaque, Pyrrole Red, Quinacridone Magenta, Phthalo Blue Green Shade, Phthalo Green Blue Shade, and Titanium White. These organic pigments produce bright secondaries and maintain color intensity through multiple mixing generations, essential when building complex color relationships or working through extended color studies.
The OPEN Mixing Set expands this principle into a complete split-primary system. Warm and cool versions of each primary color, Benzimidazolone Yellow Light and Medium, Naphthol Red Light, Quinacridone Magenta, both shades of Phthalo Blue and Green, enable precise color mixing without the guesswork. Add Raw Umber, Titan Buff, Carbon Black, and Titanium White for value control, and you can mix virtually any color needed. The included OPEN Thinner extends working time when techniques demand it.
