Smooth-On - Shell Shock Slow Brushable Liquid Plastic

Shell Shock Slow Brushable Liquid Plastic

Build rigid molds or durable coatings that cure hard enough to sand and paint

Cured plastic delivers the rigidity essential for mold-making applications. Brush multiple layers to build 3/8-inch thickness for impact-resistant coatings on foam props and scenic elements, or create fast rigid molds for silicone appliance production. The material also excels as a gel coat brushed into rubber molds, providing hard outer shells that accept foam backfilling for lightweight yet detailed castings. Five-hour cure time at room temperature eliminates heat-related warping concerns.

Fully cured Shell Shock accepts sanding, priming, and painting like conventional plastics. Minimal shrinkage preserves dimensional accuracy in molded parts, while good compressive and flexural strength ensures durability in finished pieces. Effects artists and prop makers rely on this material when projects demand rigid plastic components without the equipment requirements of resin casting systems. Mix one part A to four parts B by volume, or 1:5 by weight.
