The Framatic Modern utilizes unique construction techniques to achieve a seamless look. First, a smooth composite wood board has the center cut out to create the window of the frame. Since the frame has not been made from cut and joined lengths of molding, there are no joints at the corners. Next, a second wooden frame is attached to the back of the frame's face to create the space for the glass and matting. The frame is completed by a glossy lacquer finish.

Modern frames can be hung on the wall using clips on the back or displayed on a table or desktop with in included easel legs.
