These gel mediums contain a mixture of acrylic polymer and colored sand. They can be mixed with acrylic paints or used alone to achieve texture and a granular effect on the surface of your painting. The gels come in a range of colors, so you can achieve color and texture without mixing. The use of a palette knife for application is recommended.
